As a woman with type 4 hair, word-of-mouth has always been the key to discovering hidden gems—the best stylists, must-have products, and beauty knowledge passed down between us.
I’ve had my fair share of beauty mishaps—overpriced services, last-minute cancellations, and stylists who just didn’t get my hair type. I knew there had to be a better way. My journey with beauty has been shaped by both passion and frustration. Finding reliable stylists was so difficult that I taught myself how to do my own braids and cornrows to look my best.
With a background in finance, business, and technology, I created Stylist Checked creating a beauty experience built on Trust, not Trial and Error.
